As of 1st February 2012, the following employment tribunal limits and other amounts payable under employment legislation will increase:
a maximum weeks pay used when calculating payments such as statutory redundancy pay and a basic award in unfair dismissal cases will increase from £400 to £430.
the maximum compensatory award available in unfair dismissal cases will increase from £68,400 to £72,300.
the level of guarantee pay that an employee is entitled to receive during a period of lay-off or short-time working will increase from £22.20 a day to £23.50 a day.
These new rates will only apply where the event giving rise to such a payment occurs on or after 1st February 2012.
